Tradition, culinary delights and mountain scenery. Every year on the third Sunday in September, the traditional Gsiesertal Valley Alpine Hut Festival attracts numerous hiking enthusiasts to the valley. The festival rotates between the three villages of Pichl, St. Martin and St. Magdalena – giving guests the chance to explore the alpine huts and experience the diverse beauty of the Gsiesertal mountains. This year, the associations of St. Martin invite you to the 38th Val Casies Valley Alpine Hut Festival at the Versellalm. The starting point is S. Martin, village center. The hike from hut to hut is a gentle circular trail, making it perfect for families. The day begins at 10:30 am with a festive open-air Holy Mass. Visitors can look forward to traditional dishes, regional specialties, and live music throughout the day. For the little ones, an exciting treasure hunt promises plenty of fun – and as a special highlight, the “Taistner Gaslkrocha” will once again thrill the audience with their rhythmic whip cracking. In the late afternoon, everyone gathers in the party tent to end the festive day together with music and good cheer. A truly unforgettable celebration to mark the end of the alpine summer – traditional, warm-hearted, and surrounded by the breathtaking nature of the Gsiesertal Valley.
