Description
Father Joachim Haspinger was a Capuchin friar, freedom fighter and prominent figure of the Tyrolean uprising of 1809. Known as the “warrior friar”, he joined the rebels and fought alongside Andreas Hofer against French and Bavarian forces. The monument commemorates his courage, his fight for freedom and his historical role as both a religious and political figure.
