Monuments, natural monuments
The wayside shrine dates back to around 1460 and is regarded as an important small-scale cultural monument. Its four sides depict the Madonna and Child, the Crucifixion and several saints. After partial destruction in 1882, fragments of the original frescoes survived and are attributed to Michael Pacher. The shrine originally served as a symbol of protection against disease and misfortune.
The wayside shrine is located near the parish church of St. Margareth in Welsberg.
