Lean back and let the train take you to the Dolomite Panorama Region Val Casies Valley-Monguelfo-Tesido – comfortably and climate-friendly.
IC and EC trains stop in Bressanone or Bolzano. From there, continue by regional train to Monguelfo.

Once in Monguelfo, you have several convenient options to reach your accommodation:

direct bus connections to Tesido and the Val Casies
the handy Südtirol Transfer shuttle – shared or private, taking you right to your doorste
or a taxi / host-arranged transfer on request

With Frecciarossa and Frecciargento, you can reach Bolzano and Bressanone directly and without changing trains.

Italo Treno
Daily connections to Trento, Rovereto, Verona, Bologna, Firenze, Roma, Napoli and Salerno make Italo a fast and comfortable option to travel to the Dolomites

Travel via Kufstein, Innsbruck and the Brenner Pass to Bressanone or Bolzano, with multiple connections daily.
Alternative route: From Lienz (Osttirol) via the Winnebach border crossing, continue straight into the Val Pusteria to Monguelfo.

Tip: With the Connecting ticket Southtyrol (only €5), you can use all public transport in South Tyrol on your arrival and departure days.

ÖBB connections

Reach South Tyrol by Railjet Express or Eurocity via Innsbruck and the Brenner Pass – departing daily from Zürich, Basel or Geneva with SBB.
Alternative route: Take the train to Zernez, then the Postbus to Malles in the Val Venosta. From there, regional trains and buses connect you to every village in South Tyrol.

Deutsche Bahn connections

From 15 Dec 2024 to 13 Dec 2025: line closed between Fortezza and Brunico. Buses B400 run every 30 min (transfer only in Bressanone).
Brunico–San Candido is closed 14 Apr – 2 Jun 2025 (B500 bus every 30 min).
Free with Südtirol Guest Pass (must be validated).
