Village celebrations Keila Kirschta in Gsiesertal Valley

9/26 - 9/27/2026

At the end of September, the village of Pichl in the Gsiesertal Valley once again hosts the traditional “Keila Kirschta”! The festival begins on Saturday with the ceremonial raising of the Kirschta Michl tree, followed by a convivial evening with live music and a great atmosphere in the festival tent. The highlight of the weekend is Sunday’s grand parade with the traditional cattle drive. Decorated animals, beautifully adorned festival wagons and the ceremonial entry of the music bands turn the village into a lively stage full of tradition and customs. Delicious Tyrolean specialties and a varied children’s programme complete the experience – a celebration for the whole family! Programme: Saturday: 03:00 pm setting up of the “Kirschtamichl-Bam”, 07:00 pm RienzSound, 09:30 pm KulturErben. Sunday: 10:30 am morning gathering with the Pater Haspinger music band of St. Martin/Gsies, 01:00 pm grand parade under the motto “Wool Road” with decorated cows, the folk dance group Innichen, the Pater Haspinger music band of St. Martin/Gsies and the Schützenkapelle Pichl. From 01:30 pm play area and Olympics, 02:00 pm concert by the Schützenkapelle Pichl, 04:00 pm Taschtn Brass. The lottery draw takes place on Sunday at 06:00 pm.
