Ski tour at the Pragser Wildsee lake in the Pragser Tal Valley - DOLOMITES

In winter, Pragser Wildsee lake (1,496 m) is frozen and covered in snow. With your skis on, you cross directly over the lake. Once you reach the northern shore, you can choose between several routes: via the “Nabige Loch” to Großer Jaufen (2,480 m), or through the Seitenbach Valley to Senneser Karspitze (2,659 m) or Col de Riciogogn (2,650 m). The Fanes-Sennes-Braies Nature Park in the heart of the Dolomites offers you a wide variety of impressive ski touring routes. Bring your own provisions.

Meeting point: 08:00 am. at the train station in Welsberg.

Getting to Welsberg:

By car:

Free parking at the train station and at the Welsberg Mitte exit. The startig area can be reached in 5–10 minutes on foot.

Green mobility:

Bus lines 441 and 438, bus stop “Welsberg, Rienzbrücke”;

Train line 400. The startig area can be reached in 5–10 minutes on foot.

Good to know

For the ski tour, you’ll need touring skis with suitable climbing skins, ski touring boots, poles and a helmet, as well as a complete avalanche safety kit (transceiver, shovel and probe). Wear warm, weatherproof clothing and bring gloves, a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen. Pack a change of clothes, a snack and a warm drink in your backpack.
