"Obotola Kirschta" with original transumanza in Gsiesertal Valley

In the Gsiesertal Valley, in St. Magdalena – in the “Öbotol” – the traditional Kirschta (village festival) is celebrated in autumn. A special highlight is the “Original Öboltola Almabtrieb” on Saturday afternoon. Farmers, dressed in festive traditional clothing, bring their livestock – cows, sheep and goats – back down from the alpine pastures into the valley. The animals are beautifully decorated with flowers, wreaths and bells. The traditional cattle drive leads directly from the alpine pasture to the head of the valley and is accompanied by various performances by the Öbogsiesa Loudan. Traditional specialties and musical entertainment are guaranteed. Programme: Saturday from 11:00 am: Die Bergmusikanten, 01:30 pm: Original Öboltola Almabtrieb at the head of the valley, a traditional cattle drive directly from the alpine pasture with various performances (Öbogsiesa Loudan), 05:00 pm: Die Jung Haspinga, 07:00 pm: Sillianer Buibm, 11:00 pm: DJ The Electrix in the festival tent. Sunday: from 10:00 am: Frühschoppen in the festival tent with Mark und Damian, 11:30 am: Gipfelblech, approx. 03:00 pm: lottery draw and closing of the festival.
