"Obotola Kirschta" with original transumanza in Gsiesertal Valley

In Val Casies Valley, in S. Maddalena, the traditional “Kirschta” (parish fair) is celebrated in autumn. A special highlight is the “Original Obolola Almabtrieb” on Saturday afternoon. Farmers dressed in festive traditional attire bring their livestock – cows, sheep and goats – down from the alpine pastures into the valley. The animals are beautifully decorated with flowers, wreaths and bells.
