This race is unique: at the Wings for Life World Run, all participants start at the same time worldwide. It doesn’t matter whether you’re an elite athlete, hobby runner, or complete beginner. There is no finish line. Instead, 30 minutes after the start the Catcher Car sets off and gradually overtakes runners and wheelchair participants. Best of all, 100% of entry fees and donations go to spinal cord research to help cure paralysis. Against the Catcher Car: at the Wings for Life World Run almost everything is different from other races. The start is simultaneous at 11:00 UTC around the globe. That means: 12:00 in England, 13:00 in Germany, and so on… There’s no finish line—there’s a (virtual) Catcher Car that starts 30 minutes later and passes participants one by one. Easy-going runners may be caught around km 5, while top athletes can reach around km 60. Got a target? The Goal Calculator helps you compute the pace you need. Your result is measured not by time but by distance covered. Start in Welsberg (Monguelfo) – Sunday, 10 May 2026 at 13:00.
