10th Krampus gathering in the Gsiesertal Valley

The Jochtoifl are celebrating the tenth edition of the Obotola Krampustreff this year. It starts at 5:00 pm at the Rotmoos car park, at the end of Gsiesertal Valley in St. Magdalena. Get ready for an evening of excitement, music and thrills as Krampus groups from South Tyrol and Austria come together to show off their striking masks and costumes.

As hosts, the Jochtoifl will appear in new, fearsome costumes. St Nicholas will be there too, bringing a few cheerful moments among the frightening figures.

The celebration continues after the groups’ performances with music and dancing at the after-show party.

How to get to Gsiesertal Valley:

By car, follow the SS49-E66 to the Welsberg West exit and take the road into Gsiesertal Valley. It passes through Pichl and St. Martin before reaching St. Magdalena at the end of the valley.

By public transport, take the Pustertal train to Welsberg. From there, take bus 441 into Gsiesertal Valley, which stops in Pichl, St. Martin and St. Magdalena.

Good to know

Wear warm clothes you don’t mind getting dirty: the Krampus performances also feature fire and sparks.
