Gsiesertal - Your holiday destination

Mountains, sunshine and traditional farms. That's a very brief description of our valley between the Vedrette di Ries/Rieserferner Group and the Defregger Alps. But here you will also find an astonishing density of lively Alpine pastures, simple people and delicious, regional food. Imagine climbing a mountain from which you can admire the Dolomites. How you then fortify yourself in the sun in a mountain hut with homemade herb dumplings. And then strike up a casual conversation with the nature-loving locals. About what they value so much about their homeland and about their pride in traditional customs from the past of this rural valley. Only twice a year does the otherwise quiet valley come alive - when thousands of participants and spectators come to the legendary GsieserTal Lauf to compete on the cross-country ski trail. And in autumn at the Gsieser Almhüttenfest, where young and old celebrate traditional life.
